Traditional Italian Matterello Pasta Rolling Pin 38 inches long Birch Wood

The Matterello is a traditional Italian rolling pin, essential in many Calabrian kitchens.  It's a beautifully simple yet highly functional tool that reflects the heart of Italian cooking. Using the matterello is a skill passed down through generations.  The technique involves rolling from the center outwards, using the full length of the tool to stretch the dough evenly. The long length allows you to make large pasta sheets with even pressure distribution. Traditionally made out of Birch wood due to its light weight and strength it has a straight end on one side to ensure the pasta dough is shaped correctly.
